Day 1 Bagdogra arrival-Gangtok (125 kms / 2 hrs):
Arrive at Bagdogra airport by flight. You will be welcomed by Concept Voyages representative on arrival who will transfer you to Gangtok. Free day at leisure and overnight stay at hotel. Day 2 Gangtok sightseeing: After breakfast, depart for Gangtok city tour covering- the Rumtek Monastery, built in 1960's by His Holiness the late 16th Gyalwa Karmapa when he took refuge in Sikkim after the Chinese attack. It is an excellent replica of the original Kagyu headquarters in Tibet. It houses some of the world's most unique art objects, ancient manuscripts and icons. Botanical Garden, Do Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show and Cottage Industry. After completing the tour return back to hotel for overnight stay. Day 3 Gangtok-Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir: After breakfast at hotel depart for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake in East Sikkim located at an altitude of 12,000 ft, is ethereally beautiful lake is a must on every visitors itinerary. Embedded in steep and rugged mountain terrain, the lake is covered with snow cover from early winter to late spring. Later visit Baba Mandir, the shrine maid in memory of sepoy Harbahajan Singh. Return back to Gangtok for overnight stay at hotel. Day 4 Gangtok to Lachung (103 kms / 2 hrs 50 mins): After breakfast pick up from hotel at Gangtok and transfer to Lachung which is located at an altitude 8610 ft. You will reach Lachung via Phodong, Mangan, Singik Chungthang and Maltim. Overnight stay at Lachung. Day 5 Lachung- Excursion to Yumthang Valley (40 mins): Early Morning visit Yumthang Valley which is famous the varieties of Rhododendron flowers. Yumthang is also the summer grazing ground of yaks and is considered as winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back visit the Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. The Yumthang Hot Spring is located some distance away from Yumthang village. To reach the hot spring one has to walk a few hundred yards from the road and across a pedestrian bridge on the River Lachung. Back to resort for lunch. Overnight stay at Lachung Day 6 Lachung To Gangtok (103 kms / 2 hrs 50 mins): After breakfast leave for Gangtok. On the way stop between Singhik, Mangan where you will be able to see the Kangchendzonga Mountain Range on a clear day. This location offers a majestic view of Mt. Pandim, Mt. Kabru, Mt. Simvo, Mt. Jopuno, Mt. Khangchendzonga and Mt. Siniolchu. Visit Phodong Monastery on the way if time permits. Overnight at Gangtok. Day 7 Gangtok To Pelling (116 kms / 2 hrs 30 mins): After breakfast proceed for visit the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms, Do-Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology. Later transfer transfer to Pelling. Here you can enjoy the spectacular eastern Himalayan Range from Pelling. On arrival check in into the hotel for overnight stay. Day 8 Pelling sightseeing tour: After breakfast, proceed for a full day sightseeing tour covering, Rimbi Water Falls, Rimbi Rock Garden, Kanchandzonga waterfalls , Khechepadi Wishing Lake in the first half and visit the Pemayangtse Monastery , Rabedentse Ruins, Tikjuk view point, Helipad ground post noon. Return back to hotel for overnight stay. Day 9 Pelling-Kalimpong (92 kms / 2 hrs): After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kalimpong by Concept Voyages representative. On arrival at Kalimpong check into hotel . Free day at leisure and overnight stay at hotel. Day 10 Kalimpong sightseeing-transfer to Darjeeling (50 kms / 2 hrs): After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Kalimpong covering the Dello, Orchid Nursery, Dr. Grahams Home , Mangal Dham and Buddhist monastery. Later you will be transferred to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is one of the most magnificent hill resorts in the world. High up near the Himalayas with Mt. Kanchenjunga as a backdrop, Darjeeling is worth a visit, where, ancient forests, quaint houses and friendly people make the trip to this most famous hill station of India worth it. The mystique of Darjeeling is glamorous thanks to its landscape. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel. Day 11 Darjeeling sightseeing: Early Morning at 4 AM visit Tiger Hill, famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga, on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop return back to hotel. After breakfast proceed for visit 7 points of Darjeeling covering The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and PNZ Zoological Park, Tenzing Rock, Tibetans Refuge Centre, outer view of Darjeeling Tea Garden, Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda and ropeway. Return back to hotel for overnight stay. Day 12 Darjeeling to Bagdogra airport-Guwahati-Kaziranga (200 kms / 3 hrs): After breakfast, checkout from hotel and you will be transferred to Bagdogra airport for boarding flight to Guwahati. Upon arrival at Guwahati airport, you will be welcomed by Concept Voyages’ representative who will transfer you to Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park is the home of the “one horned Rhinoceros”. Check into hotel for overnight stay. Day 13 Kaziranga National Park: Start the day at 4.45 AM with a 1 hour Elephant Safari to visit the Kaziranga National Park. Return to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, enjoy a Jeep Safari in the Kaziranga National Park. Return to hotel for lunch. After lunch explore the nearby villages to experience the rural lifestyle of north east India. Overnight stay at hotel. . Day 14 Kaziranga National Park-Shillong (253 kms / 4 hrs 30 mins): After breakfast, checkout from Kaziranga and depart for Shillong. Check into hotel for overnight stay. Day 15 Shillong-excursion To Cherrapunjee (53 kms / 1 hr): Start your day at 7.30 AM for a full day trip to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on earth. Cherrapunji is also famous for its living bridges. Over hundreds of years the people in Cherrapunji have developed techniques for growing roots of trees into large bridges. The process takes 10–15 years and the bridges typically last hundreds of years, the oldest ones in use being over 500 years old.Visit Shillong Peak, Elephanta Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mousamai Cave, Ramakrishna Mission. Return back to Shillong in late afternoon. Evening visit the markets in the Mall and return back to hotel for overnight stay. Day 16 Shillong-Guwahati (100 kms / 2 hrs): After breakfast, checkout from hotel and you will be transferred to Guwahati hotel for check in. Later proceed for visit Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati. Overnight stay at hotel Day 17 Guwahati departure: After breakfast depart to Guwahati airport for boarding flight to your onward destination. End of tour. |
